Always a pleasure to check out your web site - great photos and wildlife shots. You've been to some neat places. I like the new Lab. Will we be seeing live cams of him someday?

Hi John - guess Piekos isn't as unique as I thought! My grandfathers name was Peter Piekos - married to Carolina. I noticed a Thomas Piekos in this guest book. I have a cousin Tommy who grew up in Hartford, CT - his father was Joe Piekos. We are all probably connected back in history somehow. When I got married I was thrilled to have what I thought would be an "easy" name but everyone spells and pronounces it Patterson all the time and I always have to correct it on important documents and people can't find me when they look me up - still easier than Piekos was! I'm divorced now but decided to keep the Pattison :) What a HUGE fish that is! Nice meeting you! Jennifer

John, seeing this collection of your vacation photos is like going to an art gallery - every shot is perfect. Have you had any shows? They are really wonderful. I don't know if your photography has gotten better, or if it's the design of the site, but if you haven't already, you should be blowing them up, framing them, and having an exhibit. - Paula

Hey, great web site. I'm quite a reader, too, so I loved looking through your rare collection of Stephen King treasures. Wow! Nice picture with the flag on the front page. Um, did you lose your feet somehow? How are you standing there? I hope you don't mind me looking through all your great memories and observations. Cheers! *Ron

Hi John, the picture of your grandparents(my aunt and uncle)made me sit back and remember "the good old" days. Helen was my godmother and "uncle John" was my dads brother, perhaps 2 of the nicest men I have ever known in my life! I truly miss both aunt Helen and uncle John and have so many great childhood memories of both of them

Hey John, isn't it interesting what you cna catch with trail cams? there is a product I came across called CamTrackker which looks amazing if you were wanting to perhaps capture less 'tail shots' and have clearer pictures? isn't it interesting how so many people from so many different countries can come across your page? have a great day Jaxin

You can see an old photo of me if you google Paula Piekos Ice. In the first 20 listing there will be a picture an old student of mine posted of me and Ice Cube. It says I was MacCauley Culkins nanny, but that isn't really true. I had been an extra on Home Alone II, and MacCauley's bodyguard was drinking at a bar where we were having a cast party. He asked me to watch MacCauley. When I showed my students photos of me with Ice Tea from another party in Chicago at the time, I didn't want to tell the paert about the bodyguard drinking at the bar, so I just said I was watching MacCauley. My student ended up putting the picture on a website aerroneously makes it look loke I was Culkin's nanny. If you just plug in just my name, you'll see my motorboat pictures. I know that's not eco-sensitive, but I justify it by doing aerials of woods that have development proposals in the works. I give them to a local group called "Concerned Citizens for Open Space". paula

Hi John! I love your site! I stumbled on it when I punched my name into google. Aside from it being a good place for family networking, I love looking at photography, pets and wildlife. I hope trying to raise awareness of the unprotected status of your local woods. My parents are Thaddeus (Ted) and Terry Piekos. They were born in Woonsocket, RI and my grandparents immigrated from Poland. I am a hobbyist photographer, but really love it. I shoot with a Canon Rebel, both automatic and digital models.. When I shoot inanimate objects, I go back to an old Pantax K1000, because I can get closer. I love that you care so much much for your dogs. I makes me feel feel less odd for the extremes I've gone through for animals. Right now I'm embroiled in some woods-protectin' activity here in White Plains...fighting developers. It must be something in our blood. I wonder if we're cousins. I'd love to be able to photograph by remote the way you do. Photos of endangered species can help save a woods or wetland. I backpacked Poland years ago to look at the towns my grandparents came from. I mix up the towns from my mother's side and from my father's side, so I'll ask my father and post the Piekos side towns for your geneology correspondents. -Paula Piekos

John – I am the friend of Cathie Considine who used to email you sporadically, usually when she was on vacation. She clued me in to your Dozer Cam and I have been watching him all day with great interest. I decided to look at some of your pictures and really liked the one of Ted Kennedy on the beach. Oh wait – that was a dead whale. I’m sure you understand the confusion. Anyway…. I’ll be looking in on Dozer often…. my very best thoughts are with him. And you, of course! -Karin

Hey John... I'm that idiot who sprinted past you painted red in the marathon a couple weeks ago. And no, I did NOT jump in at the 21 mile mark. I ran the entire race like that, clocking a 3:41:47 according to my watch. Just wanted to clarify that I did run the entire race. Being a runner myself, I can't stand people that jump in the middle of the race. Great job finishing another Boston despite the heat on Marathon Monday - Ken

EXCELLENT !!! EXCELLENT EXCELLENT Website John. I was doing a search on DVD Libraries and came across your website. I have a total of 500 DVD's myself, I also have a yellow Lab and we share the same liking when it comes to lighthouses. I enjoyed browsing your pictures and I have even replied to one of the people who signed your guestbook regarding information for DVD Movie Library Management software. I have bookmarked your website so I can add some pictures of your Lighthouses to my pictures if that's ok. My Yellow Lab's name is Casper. Anyway, take care and congratulations again for the great job you've done putting this website together.

Hi, Boss, I was so surprised that you can do the watercolors, the two painting are wonderful, especially the "Cape Cod Lighthouse". And I read the story of "The Kilauea Iki Run", NOT BAD!, I like the ending, "My mind was racing". Also the part "Surrounding me, leaking through the swirling mists, I caught glimpses of the crater wall that I had just come from. Over the clouds of mist and the peacefulness of the crater floor floated the sounds of the surrounding rain forest.". It is touching and beautiful.

Hey John, Nice web site for a Java guy! You should turn your Vineyard home into a salsa making factory. If juice can be sold from that area, then so can salsa. When your salsa factory becomes extremely successful, you can buy a place on the Big Island in order to run up volcanos every day. Later, Dirk

Hi John, Just tapped in "piekos" to altavista, and up pops your page! As far as I am aware, the surname is very rare in the UK - our family are the only ones, as far as we know. People often think the name is of Greek origin, but our immediate family come from Poland, and more distantly, Hungary. Anyway, It's nice to see the Piekos name on the web. If you have time, I'd be really interested to hear the origins of your name. Regards, James Piekos.
